Experience
During the course of his career, Mr. Rossman has engaged in a diverse commercial litigation practice. He frequently represents corporate entities, from international companies to closely held companies and individuals, on a wide range of corporate and complex litigation matters including catastrophic loss, business litigation, insurance coverage, professional liability, shareholder disputes, labor and employment issues, complex construction, retail store liability, and white collar crime.
Mr. Rossman has first chair trial experience and has served as lead counsel in successfully litigating matters in a variety of state and federal courts.
Mr. Rossman has also served as general counsel to small companies where he advised on human resources, compliance issues, risk management, and legal issues that arise in everyday company life.
While in law school, Mr. Rossman served as Senior Associate Editor to the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review, Communications Director for the Moot Court Board, and competed nationally for the school’s moot court team.
Mr. Rossman also served as an adjunct professor at the Seton Hall University School of Law from 2010 – 2013.
Representative Matters
- Defeated ex parte emergent application to seize client’s company bank accounts based on Ponzi scheme and fraud allegations in New York Supreme Court. Shortly thereafter, filed applications that led to entire complaint being dismissed by Plaintiff.
- After briefing and oral argument in the United States District Court of Connecticut, defeated motion for injunctive relief and temporary restraining order filed by a major worldwide company alleging breach of two restrictive covenants against its former employee.
- Successfully briefed and argued trial court’s grant of summary judgment and appellate court’s affirmance of insurance coverage issue on behalf of a major insurance company regarding a provision of New Jersey’s Compulsory Motor Vehicle Insurance Law.
- Successfully defended corporate and individual clients at trial for Plaintiff’s claims of breach of contract, rescission, and corporate dissolution where Plaintiff invested $100,000 into client’s business and claimed he was entitled to 10% interest in the company in return. After a two day bench trial, the judge issued an opinion dismissing Plaintiff’s complaint in is entirety and entered judgment in favor of the client.
- Successfully briefed and argued trial court’s grant of summary judgment and appellate court’s affirmance of insurance coverage issue on behalf of a major insurance company regarding a provision of New Jersey’s Compulsory Motor Vehicle Insurance Law.
- After a homeowner was improperly sued by a contractor for work it negligently performed, Mr. Rossman filed Consumer Fraud Act counterclaims and aggressively litigated the matter resulting in the contractor dismissing the lawsuit and paying the client's counsel fees and costs of litigation.
- After jury selection, Mr. Rossman's clients accepted settlement of full policy limits related a tragic wrongful death claim.
- Mr. Rossman represents two national retail stores for matters involving premises liability in New York and New Jersey.
